Fifth annual Heather A. Freeman Foundation golf tournament held
DATES: July 24, 2012
WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Golfers in the North Country were able to brave some small storms and take some swings for a good cause.
Tuesday was the fifth annual Heather A. Freeman Foundation tournament at Thompson Park in Watertown.
Freeman, who worked at Time Warner Cable as a media sales account executive in our Watertown office, was killed in a motorcycle crash in 2007.
Freeman was known for her charitable work in the community and her friends and family say this tournament picks up where she left off.
"Our main focus here today is to make sure that everybody around us remains positive about Heather and keeps her spirit and her excitement about life alive," said Lynn Pietroski, Heather A. Freeman Foundation President.
The foundation expected to raise about $30,000 Tuesday to help at risk children and local families in need.
